[Buffy is on her way home after collecting some empty crates from one of the shops. After all, if a girl's gonna move she needs something to put her things in during the move.

It's at this point--with two or three boxes precariously balanced in her arms--that she spots another blonde in a red jacket. What, are we a plague here or something?]

What's that about geraniums?

[Vash peers over at the girl with the boxes before smiling a bit shyly.] An old friend of mine loved geraniums - but I've never seen a real one.

I...I don't know if I have, either. I've never been a gardener. How'll you find one if you've never seen one?

I saw some pictures of them before! They were beautiful; but it's just not the same.

[Shifting the weight boxes, she peeks around the side to get a better look at the man.]

You might want to talk to Aerith. She knows pretty much everything about flowers, ever.

Aerith? Pretty name. [He nods] Thanks! I'll be sure to look for her!

[Peers at your boxes] Do you need a hand?

I'm alright. Really. It's not that much farther and--[Oh. Spoke too soon. There goes the top-most crate as it topples forwards and out of her grip. Rats.]

[Vash rushes foward and slides onto his stomach to catch the box just in time.] That was close! [He stands with a grin]

[She smiles widely at the display of Good Samaritanness.] You really didn't have to--it's just a box. But...thanks.

There could have been something breakable in it! Sure you don't need a hand?

[She smirks.] They're empty. I'm taking them home to put stuff in...but, sure. Why not? I guess I could use a hand. And if you'd like I can point out Aerith's house on the way.

Sounds good! [After all - it's not like the flower shop is going anywhere. He can come back!] I'm Vash!

[With her two boxes still firmly gripped, she begins to lead the way.] Hi, Vash. I'm Buffy.

[He follows like a good helper!] It's nice to meet you Buffy!

Same to you. [She's walking gingerly. After all, there might be ice underneath the snow and she was so unaccustomed to this whole winter deal.]

So, how about this friend who likes geraniums? Is she here or back home?

She... died. A long time ago. I've heard they can bring the dead here - but I haven't seen her around.

[Crap. Y'know, Buffy--there is such a thing as tact.]

I'm sorry to hear that.

It's alright. I think she's happy. She told me once that people who die go to the land of angels and I'm sure there's lots of flowers there. [He smiles as he thinks about it] And she had someone waiting for her there to; so I know she's alright.

Heaven? [Buffy smiles quietly at the thought. And, perhaps, a touch sadly.] I'm sure she's there and comfy and there's probably lots of flowers.

Heaven? [He nods - liking the sound of it] It sounds like a good word.

Yeah. It's where people are supposed to go after they--y'know. When they die.

[He nods some more] It's good to have a nice word for that. [But Vash is sensing this might be a sensitive topic. Attempted topic change: GO!] So what are all the boxes for?

[She's grateful for the change.] I'm moving and apparently I have a lot of stuff that's gotta get moved along with me.

Oh! Moving? Where are you moving too?

Another house, down the road. Not too far but someone asked me to move in so--why not?

It's more fun to stay with friends! I'll be happy to help out more than just moving empty boxes if you need it!

Who are you, the Easter Bunny of Helpful Movers or something?

[She chuckles.]

[Oh he's laughing at that.] Nope! Don't have the ears for it!

Dunno. Looks like they could be hiding under all that hair.

Well, maybe I could hop to the challenge.

[He starts hoping after you] Yes! It is I! The incredible bunny helper! Complete with jokes! Get yours today!

[Of course, now she's beginning to wonder if this guy was entirely sane.]

[He is - he just loves going along with a joke. He'll stop hoping soon - it takes too much energy]

Been here long? [She eventually asks, rounding one of the turns in the path.]

No. Hm... [He thinks calculating] About two weeks now I think.

Two weeks. [She smirks.] Adjusting alright?

I think so. The lack of money is pretty nice!

That? That's something I can agree with.

And this is the first time I've got to see snow. That was pretty exciting.

Are you sure that by exciting you don't actually mean terrible and inconvenient?

Terrible and inconvenient? [He scratches his head] How so?

It's cold and wet and ick.

But cold can be nice! And doesn't being wet feel refreshing sometimes! [Sorry Buffy! You're talking to a guy who comes from the desert! Water + Cold = good!]

But it's just so....cold.

[Smiling!] I kinda like it!

I've only seen snow once before, back home.

My planet is mostly desert. So we never got any snow.

A desert? [Oh. Wow.] Bummer.

It's not so bad. I mean - it could always be worse!

[He laughs loudly at that] I suppose for most places - but for Gunsmoke that actually might be a good thing!

Gunsmoke? That's the name of a place?

It's kind of a weird name for a place. Sounds very...y'know...criminal.

Really? I always thought it was a pretty good name. [But he stops to think about it for a moment then laughs] But I guess I could see your point.

See, me? I come from a place that was called Sunnydale. Totally different vibe. [Though not an entirely accurate one.]

I guess you're right! [Laughing!] It does sound much nicer!

It rarely rained and pretty much never snowed. Always nice and sunny, trueish to its name.

Wow. That's intersting. I mean... a lot of people had guns on Gunsmoke but I don't think there was a gun fight everyday. ...I at least HOPE not.

[Raven has been out looking around the town today, seeing if anyone is preparing for a trip home. But nothing interesting has come his way yet.]

Geraniums? Are they for a special lady?

[With an embarrassed laugh and his hand scratching the back of his head he turns towards you] Actually... I've just always wanted to see one.

You've never seen a Geranium before? I might've done.. but there's only flower I actually know anythin' about, and that's not it.

How come you've always wanted ta see one? Seems a bit of a strange thing to be lookin' for.

A very dear friend of mine loved flowers. Geraniums were her favorite. She use to tell me about them so I always wanted to see a real one.

[He pauses for a moment in deep thought.]

Kinda ironic, I used to have a friend who meant the world to me, she loved a certain type of flower as well. Though now that you mention it, I should see if the Flower Shop actually has any of 'em.

But uh, how will ya know which one is a Geranium if you've never see one before?

Well, she use to show me pictures of them. So I have an idea of what they look like!

Well - I don't really like death myself. But - it's nice to know there's something beautiful like flowers to go with it.

[He nods] She was. And she was very smart.

Alright! Here they are!

[She cheerfully waves an arm towards a large display, chock full of different types of winter and any-season flowers. Geraniums are among them.]

[When the door opens he stands there shocked and speechless. He’s quiet for at least a full minute.] Wow… so beautiful. [So beautiful in fact that he’s begun to cry] There’s so many!

Hehe, yeah, they're really-- [Wait a sec, is this guy crying?] M-Mister? What's wrong?!

[He wipes his eyes before giving you a happy smile.] Nothing. I’m alright. Their beauty just took my breath away. [He’s honestly so happy he was literally crying] I’ve never seen so many different kinds all at once. It’s amazing.

... Really? Do they not have a lot of flowers where you're from?

Actually... my planet doesn't have any. It's a desert. [He heads towards the Geraniums a bit hesitantly. He can't believe they're really there let alone a whole room of flowers.]

The whole planet? How terrible ... It must be very hard, living in an environment like that all the time ...

[He smiles] Well, I won't say it's easy; but some people have been able to grow some grass and even trees. We're working on creating a better world. [He kneels down toward the geraniums.] Oh Rem... they really are beautiful.

Really? What a relief! ♥ I hope the day you and the others from your world see a nice, green planet comes sooner than later! [-- Wait a sec, did he say a name? ... Maybe it wouldn't be too polite to ask directly. Let's try an indirect way /o/] Is there a reason you were looking for geraniums specifically?

[Blinks - opps oh yeah. Coming back from his daydream.] Oh, [he laughs shyly knowing he's been caught] They were a very dear friend's favorite flower. She use to tell me about them all the time.

It could! I mean... I've traveled a lot and haven't seen one myself yet... but! That doesn't mean there isn't one or one will eventually grow! [He turns his head back to the geranium.] They smell wonderful.

I hope one does soon, if there aren't any yet! [Well, seeing how much he likes these flowers--] Would you like to take some geraniums home with you? I could get a vase of them set up for you if you want!

Thanks; I really appreciate the offer. But, if it’s alright, I’d rather leave them here so they can grow and live.

[She blinks for a moment before giving a genuine smile.] Alright, I understand. That's really very kind of you, to think of them like that!

[She's still a little flustered from the sudden hug, but the question snaps her out of it.] Oh, those are honeysuckles! They've got a really nice lemon-y smell to them, too!

Really? [He smells it] Wow! They do! [I do hope she's ready for a lot of questions about flowers XD Because he's going to ask a lot]

Hehe, yep! Those and sweetboxes are some of my favorite winter flowers! [She doesn't mind at all /o/]

Flowers grow in seasons?

Not all of them, but most do! Some can grow in during any season, but they usually have to be grown indoors for them to survive.

I see! But can the winter flowers live outside? If they grow in winter... [He never realized flowers were so complicated!]

It really depends on the environment. If the winters aren't too bad in that area, then they can stay outside just fine! But if it's too cold, then they have to be brought inside, or else they might not make it. Some flowers can't be brought in though, since they grow along the walls -- but those types usually thrive without much of a problem anyway!

It's a little complicated, hehe.

I get it! Are the geraniums a winter flower?

Um, sort of ... They're the kind of flower that needs to be moved inside during the winter if it's too harsh outside. They're more of an "anytime" flower than anything else!

So they'll still be here in the summer?!

Uh-huh! They'll definitely still be here!

Really!? That's great!!!

Hehe, yep! You'll be able to see all the different types of geraniums by then, too!

There's different types!?

Yeah! They all look basically the same, but some are bigger, smaller, or have unique color patterns! You'll see when summer comes.

[There's some excited and almost breathless laughter right before he yells] Oh boy! I can't wait!!

I've been practicing! Some friends showed me how to make one!
