[This early morning the journals are treated to a sight, although it's not exactly a good sight. It's Vash standing in front of the mirror in his room inspecting his wings. Those who know Vash may or not be shocked by his horrible looking scars, as he stands wearing nothing but his pajama pants, but there is something different about him this morning. And it just might be-

A CAT'S FACE!

No, that's just a nearly grown Donut pawing lightly at the page of the journal. Eventually the young cat gets bored and jumps down to go rub himself up against Vash's leg. Vash, however, is far too busy inspecting the new bottom row of red feathers he's seemed to have gotten overnight to notice.]

Huh, that's different. I wonder if it will stay like that.

[Hm? Owner not paying attention to you when hungry? Donut does what his momma taught him. He reaches up and digs his claws into Vash's leg.]

OWWWWWWW! OW! ACK! STOP! STOP!

[He'll only notice that his journal is open when someone tries to get his attention or when he heads out for the day. For those that would like to run into Vash today he'll be headed out from House 5 and wandering the woods most of the day. He's out looking for Wolfwood, Milly, and any New Feathers who may be lost out there. He will take a break at some point in the day for some lunch at Seventh Heaven so can be found around the square then.]

[Mewing? Donut knows that mewing! He lets go on Vash's leg to go running for the journal and pouncing on it, letting out loud nyeows as he paws at it. He can hear you in there brother, he's just not sure how to get in there yet.]

Donut! Stop it before you break it! [Not that Vash is trying to stop the cat. He's too busy trying to put on a shirt.]

[Hermes mew even more excitedly when Donut came into clearer view of the journal. He paws at the journal as well, and...Alexei just finds this, along with Vash's displeasure amusing. It's hard not to laugh a little at this. Some composure, Alexei. He picks up Hermes, much to his displeasure and keeps him away from pawing at the journal any further. He was still mewing though]

I doubt a cat would be able to easily break something like this.

[Well, Donut is doing his best to prove that theory wrong. He claws at the paper nearly ripping it to shreds before Vash finally comes and saves the journal from the cat.

Hey! His brother is in that book! Give him back. Donut rubs himself against Vash's knees and continues to meow up at the gunman.]

He was sure giving it his best shot.

[Hermes just meows sadly when his brother is taken away. He'll just sneak out later when Alexei isn't looking to see you!]

Are you all right at least? These two seem to be inseparable at times.

Yeah, I'll be alright. He's scratched me worse than this before. He must not be as hungry right now.

Not much. Just a bit of a drifter, going here and there. Anywhere I happened to feel like going.

For a simple drifter, you sure had put your body in a lot of strain.

Ah, well. Gunsmoke isn't exactly the easiest place for someone accident prone like I am to live in.

Yeah, it does have a bit of a fitting name sometimes! Hahahaha!

I can't imagine anything could possibly survive that long on such an arid world. I suppose this sort of weather we're having now must be foreign to you.

It was my first year here, but I'm getting use to it! I actually kinda like it!

[And not mentioning just how people survive on that horribly dry planet. It gets into topics he'd rather stay away from.]

It's been two years now.
