Name: Vash the Stampede
Door: Submissive from TDM
Canon: Trigun: Maximum
Canon Point: Volume 8, Chapter 3: Counter-Attack!!
Age: 150+
Appearance: A tall man who wears a red coat. His hair is mostly blonde, with a streak of black that wraps around the back of his head near the bottom.

History: This Wiki page gives a good summary!

The point I’m taking Vash from is when he’s been locked away for a couple months by his twin brother as Knives goes around collecting more Plants.

Personality: Vash is a highly OPTIMISTIC guy who believes that the world is made of love and peace. Or, well, one day could be. It doesn’t matter how many times he is betrayed or shown how heartless and cruel humans can be he continues to believe that they can change for the good. His body is littered with scars from all the times he’s been proven wrong, but still he insists that no one has the right to kill another person. This is one of Vash’s strongest traits and what has gotten him through all the hardships that he’s lived through so far.

As much as Vash preaches this over and over again he also struggles with his own words. At times it’s very hard to turn the other cheek when faced with someone who has hurt you, but every time Vash always chooses to give people that third, forth, even fiftieth chance to change if he must.

As much optimism as Vash has he actually has very little self worth as he is constantly thinking how if he and his brother hadn’t been born then the world would be in a much better place. He hates to be alone and just wants to be surrounded by people, but those people fear the fact that he’s not human and tend to treat him like a monster if they find out. Despite all the negative and painful things that Vash is forced to live through he does so with a smile and hope that things will be better in the future.

This leads into one of his negative traits. Due to Vash’s low self worth and desire to create a better world for people he’s incredibly SELF SACRIFICING. He never hesitates when it comes to throwing himself headlong into danger. With this mentality he’s often blinded to how his actions can actually hurt the people around him who care about him. Such as one time when he got naked and barked like a dog when someone promised to not hurt one of his friends as a result. Although Vash had the skill to stop the man with violence, which was proven later when the man failed to keep his promise, instead Vash chose to act like a dog to the horror of the friend he was protecting.

This isn’t to say that Vash won’t pick up a weapon and fight if he must. At times Vash can be antagonistic if that means that a possible fight stops and instead he becomes the focus point. Typically violence will be his last choice if clever thinking, crying, or pleading won’t work. Once Vash does become violent he is a force to be reckoned with.

He’s also energetic, loud, and rambunctious. Vash has a lot of energy and isn’t afraid to make a fool of himself to expel it. He’d rather be loud and having a good time then sad. Even if he’s lying to himself about how happy he is. It’s often hard to tell how Vash is feeling, as he’ll smile even when sad. Which is another negative trait that Vash has. He’s a CHRONIC LIAR. Not just when it comes to his emotions, but Vash often tries to hide his true self. He’ll dance around the truth or outright lie. This is mostly out of fear that if he allows people to get close they’ll become afraid of him and leave, but by not being honest he tends to push more and more people away.

Vash is a goofball whose main desire in this world is to be surrounded by people who are happily living their lives. To live in a world where there is no stealing or wars. He believes that the ticket to the future is blank so he’s constantly working on fulfilling that dream of his. Even if he continues to constantly get hurt along the way Vash will almost never lose his smile. Which is Vash’s biggest flaw. His unshakeable QUIXOTIC worldview. Some may think that believing in a better world and preaching a nonviolent approach would be a strong trait, but not when it’s to the level that Vash takes it.

It doesn’t matter how awful someone is Vash will swear that they can change and try to force other people to follow his mentality. Typically this is in the form of stopping someone from killing someone else. Even if the killing was in complete self defense Vash will never see it as anything other than a mistake that should have never happened. It’s because of his beliefs that terrible people can continue to do terrible things at times because he’s not willing to stop them even when he has the chance to. There is no middle ground for Vash. You either also believe that no one has the right to take the life of another or you are weak and need to change. For anyone who calls Vash a friend this can be very difficult to strive to. His has a perfect vision of the future and he’s not shy about giving someone a lecture if they fail to meet that perfect vision. While not following his idealistic dreams doesn’t mean that someone can’t be friends with Vash it will put an extreme pressure on that friendship.

Powers and Abilities: Vash has super human abilities that allows him to do incredible feats of agility and speed. For example in the manga he’s capable of dodging out of a bullet’s path even at a point blank range. He’s an expert gunman and can shoot thousands and thousands of rounds and always hit his target every single time. Luckily for the people Vash tends to go up against he never shoots to kill. He's also been shown to have better hearing and sight than a typical human.

It's also been stated he has a higher than average IQ in terms of problem solving and memory. While he doesn't have an exact eidetic memory it's pretty close. He can take a quick look into a room and then fire blindly around a corner to successfully hit his targets in a nonlethal way. Vash also can remember the faces and names of the people he meets, even briefly, over long periods of time. He's been shown multiple times in the manga being able to recall the name of people even if he hasn't seen them in over ten years or since they were a child.

Vash is also a Plant, which means that he has abilities like a Plant has. Plants are a manmade creature that when used correctly have the power to destroy or create nearly anything. Primarily Vash’s power tends to manifest in either a giant canon that transforms from his arm or protective feathers. With this arm canon known as his Angel Arm he destroyed a whole city killing thousands due to his brother's meddling. The blast is so powerful that it often leaves nothing behind. Another time that he used that power he sent a shot so strong up into the sky it blew a very large and noticeable crater into the moon.

The protective feathers will burst forth from different parts of Vash’s body. They have been used before to stop bullets from killing him and others. He’s also used them as wings to fly himself to safety and later on in the manga (past the point I’m taking him from) he also figured out how to store some of his power into bullets so he can shoot little black holes.

I am happy to nerf most of Vash’s powers if requested, however, Vash actually dislikes his powers and without his brother around will not be actively using them. At best maybe the protective feathers, but never the Angel Arm. (Unless something event wise came up, but I tend to refuse to do game breaking things with him unless requested by the mod team.) The other reason he won't be using his powers unless as an absolutely last option is that each time he uses his power he slowly dies a bit more. So I would like to keep most of his powers in tact if allowed.

Inventory: His trade mark yellow sunglasses
His handgun
The semi-automatic gun hidden inside his prosthetic arm

Not sure if it counts as clothing? But in Vash’s boots that he wears there is a knife hidden inside as part of the design of the boot. Would that be removed? Or would it be considered part of the clothing? Here's a clip of the knife being used in the anime. (About 17minutes in if the time stamp doesn't work.) A step down on the boot to trigger it sort of thing. I'm not sure if it's counted as an "item" and so it would be removed from his boots or considered part of the boot left in there. I'm happy either way! :) Just need to know if he would have it or not. Thank you!
