[As the day starts to move more towards evening Vash finds himself waking up just inside the tunnel system. For once dressed in his normal clothes, but of course Vash isn’t the lucky type. There’s just a SLIGHT problem as he fumbles his journal out of his coat pocket. He opens it and speaks calmly, as if nothing was wrong.]

Wolfwood, I need a hand. [He’ll explain what and where he is once you can put a filter up for him.]

Everyone… please don’t respond to this unless it’s completely private. [Who knows who might be stalking this entry and he can’t filter for you right now, but he needed to get home somehow. He was going to freeze if he got lost in the forest all night.

For those who’d like to run into Vash; while he waits for Wolfwood, he works on carefully feeling his way up and out of the tunnel. He doesn‘t like the way it makes him feel when he’s down there. It always makes him feel weak and empty inside. Once he‘s out he‘ll find a tree to rest against with his eyes closed and sunglasses on. Doing his utmost best to look as if he‘s just taking a rest while waiting for Wolfwood. No need to suspect he‘s gone temporarily blind, right?]

Wolfwood mentioned something about you explaining things and answering questions when I wanted? [She has not forgotten, unfortunately.]

Uh, okay. What do you want to know?

... You're not Human. [There's definitely the implication that she wants to know what he is from that statement.]

[Vash takes a breath and takes lets it out. These were not going to be easy questions.] No, I'm not. I'm a Plant.

B-But not like a tree or anything like that. [He's gotten that question enough the few times he's had to explain this.] Plants on my planet were created by humans to help them cultivate a new world. They were part machine, part living creature. I was born from one of them.

... So like my people. Except the legends say we really were born from actual plants. [Though she's not sure if she believes that part of history.]

Maybe a little like you're people. It's not always easy to explain what I am.

[Vash shakes his head.] No, there aren't too many plants. Not compared to humans at least.

Can you tell me how old you are, Vash?

AHahah! Now why would you want to know something like that?

Because hardly anyone lives past twenty years old among my kind, silly! We're all killed before then. [Yes, she is saying this with a smile on her face.]

[Child, that is so sad.] I... I'm a hundred and thirty three. [And he's too stunned by your reaction to be able to respond properly to that idea of being killed before you reach twenty.]

[She's not completely okay in the head, haven't you noticed?] Wow, that's a long time...

Lots of things that I probably can't get to by the time Wolfwood gets here. [It's just hard to choose where to start, because then she has no idea which way the conversation can go.]

[Vash pauses before answering. Not really wanting to answer.] Well, all the Plants are my sisters, but... I do have a brother too.

A brother? [Details, Vash. She wants them.]

Yeah, a brother, but we haven't see each other in awhile.

Why not? Don't you miss him?

We don't get along very well. Kaori, he's here now, and I want you to stay away from him, okay? [More so now that he's starting to learn more about your home life.] If you tell him what you are, I don't think he'll intentionally hurt you, but he can be very dangerous. [Usually Vash fears psychical damage when it comes to his friends running into Knives, but this time he's worried about your mind.]

It's kind of hard to stay away when you don't give any information about him. [To be honest, it was a little frustrating.]

Like that man you warned me about before... was he involved with what happened...?

I'm sorry, I guess I'm not sure the best way to warn you against them. [He pauses a minute trying to think about it.] Well, Knives, my brother. His voice sounds a lot like mine, but it's deeper. As for Legato, he has a calm, monotone voice that he speaks in.

And yes... it was him. That is the power that Legato has. I'm sorry that he did that to you. I should have found you sooner.
