[Today started like most mornings for Vash. He got up, did a little bit of training, took a shower, then started breakfast. There was something missing though as he got started. Wasn’t Rem usually up by now? As his bread turned to toast, he went to check on her to see if she would like anything for breakfast. After not getting any response from some light knocking, he quietly opened the door.]

Rem, are you awa- [All of her things were gone and Rem was nowhere in sight. All that was left were her flowers. He quietly shut the door and picked his journal up off the kitchen table.]

[Voice]

For those that knew her. Rem, she- [Long, long pause.] she’s been sent home.

[Action]

[Meryl, if you’re home you have about forty seconds to come find him before all you’ll have is a note saying that Rem was sent home, he went for a walk and would be back later. Whether Meryl catches him in time or not, he’ll eventually head straight into the forest as he just can’t stay in the apartment right now. He’ll walk for a long time, going deep into the woods before he realizes that this is dangerous. He’s not paying attention to anything around him, so he’ll climb up into a tree in the hopes to stay clear of at least some of the dangers in the woods.]

[Sometime later when he actually realizes his journal made a noise.] Hhm?

I'm sorry. I never met Rem, but... it's not easy when someone you care about gets sent back.

Ah... thanks. [Sorry, he's a little short on words right now.]

[His response is a bit delayed] Yeah? [Because what could you EVER want right now? No clue at all~]

[You're obviously not alright, so he'll skip the stupid questions]

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. [He will, when he stops to actually think about something other than what Rem went home to for five seconds. Auto smile is a go.]

[At first he gives a small shrug. Because now that he's run from the apartment and Meryl for a bit - oh god he's alone. Someone forgot for a brief moment how much he hates to be alone, but he also knows he's not really in the best state of mind right now.] I'm alright... [There. He answered by answering a question you didn't ask. Totally what you wanted right?]

If you want some time to yourself, that's fine.

But don't bother lying.

Oh, uh, sorry, [Not really lying, more like he doesn't know what he wants.] If you wanted to... I wouldn't mind.

[Either way, Sanji eases back and stares for a moment]

[...And he never even got to meet her.]

[He won't bother asking if you're all right, or if you need company. There are other people setting out do just that. But he can't do nothing, you see. And so after another moment, he'll go looking for his violin.]

Ya sound like you could use a drink. Wanna come drown yer sorrows with this old man? Bein' alone isn't gonna help.

Of course... I'm always up early. [ She heaves a sigh, strides over to him, and wraps her arms around his middle. ]
