Actually, he knows some of my abilities. I can teleport away if the danger appears. That is why it would be better for someone like me to be around to even confirm there is danger.

About the way anyone could be stopped from using magic, prevent them from casting the spell. It sounds easy, but it really isn't.

I'll leave quickly. I think they would be best off knowing if he actually did come. If nothing is known about him, then what is to say that when he finds the house empty he'll just leave without leaving a sign he was there?

I won't. As you said, you may be just being overly cautious, this way you can confirm that is a fact. Someone needs to watch the area, it may as well be someone who can escape quickly if there is a sign of danger.
