[Accidental Voice]

[There is a small quick intake of breath] Is… is this… snow? How long have I been…

GAH!!! Where’d it go! Oh man… it has to be around here somewhere! Milly is going to be so upset if I’ve lost it! How could I have lost something so BIG so- and my clothes?! Where… where’d it all go! I wasn’t asleep THAT long was I? It was just a nap…

Huh… those are new… [a short pause] Yeoch! And sensitive…

It’s GOTTA be around here SOMEWHERE! [That’s definitely the sound of someone digging… and the sound of something falling on the unnoticed journal. Feel free to interrupt him before he buries his journal under a mountain of snow.]

Very!

[ She looks down a bit, holding her blanket tighter. ] That's right. We haven't been able to break it. We can't leave on our own, because of it.

[Again checks the database, again with the robotic voice.] The data says that the barrier appears to reach indefinitely into the sky and into the ground, it seems to be oval shaped and to reach the edges takes around two or three days depending on the direction. [A pause.] There's no data about the composition of the barrier but attempts to destroy or damage it have been to no avail.

[Stops the checking.] I suppose that's normal, if they want to experiment with synthesized shifting in a contained area they will need a container that can't be destroyed easily in one of the shifts. However it seems there was a time when the barrier was smaller, though so far the size is fixed that means that even if it can't be destroyed it can change its size.

I know my friend keep trying to break it down. He doesn't seem to have any plans to give up on it.

[Smiles.] From what the data says I would think anyone with some kind of power or weapons has tried to break it, either alone or ganging up. I'm just checking what the information about Luceti I have in my database, I have been here myself barely a week.

And personally I wouldn't give up either, there doesn't seem any data that really says that the barrier can't be broken, just that all attempts have failed. From that all we can be sure of is that, so far, we lack the power to break it, but with new people coming and new shifts happening maybe that will change.

More or less... though, there's a power cap on thm.

[Blinks at Vash.] The database where I've stored the information from the guides, of course.

Maybe that's why the barrier hasn't been broken yet, I suppose they would try to make sure there was no one inside the barrier capable of breaking it. I have yet to see anyone with powers thought, or at least showing them.

Most of the people here are friendly. There's very few that aren't, to be honest. We're all trapped together, so everyone helps each other the best they can.

It's human nature. [Sighs.] When trapped the human mind will go through one of two paths. Either try to assert themselves over the rest of trapped people in order to gain at least control of the situation among them. Or cooperate to get back control from whatever froce has them trapped. At least that's how the human's minds worked in my world.

[ She perks up a moment after coughing into her palm with a surprised expression. ] Ah...? Oh, right. But, we should go and see if we can find your coat, first, Vash. It won't do any good if you're sick, too.

[identity profile] lukanightfever.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Frowns at Meryl.] Actually, Miss Meryl, excuse my rudeness but I think Vash is right. You should go to bed and rest, we don't know what kind of illnesses one can get here, one has to be careful and take care.

If you want, you could describe me the coat and I'll search for it while you and Vash go back home. It's not good for Vash either to stay outside without proper warm clothes. If I don't find it I'll get another coat and clothes of his size, meanwhile you both rest and stay warm. I can't get sick so I really don't mind to do the searching.

[ This quiets the little woman up. Being useless is not something Meryl likes, but it seems she can't win, and that's a bit of a knock on her pride. She bundles up a little more and stares at the wall, letting the two talk. ]

[identity profile] lukanightfever.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nods, making sure she has all the details.] Okay, I'll try to find it, or at least clothes of your size. [Looks at Meryl.] Miss Meryl, where do you live?

[identity profile] bernardelli.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Woah, suddenly rampage of attention. She jumps a bit. ]

H-Huh? I'm fine! Oh, where I live? Building 4, floor 3, room 12.

[identity profile] lukanightfever.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Looks at Meryl worried.] Okay, I'll go there when I finish searching with whatever I0ve found. You both should go there now... [Looks at Vash.] And get Miss Meryl into bed so she can rest.
