[Wolfwood swallows hard, and for a moment that is all he can do. He had considered this possibility - he's too nervous and trained to do that very thing, to consider as many angles as he could (though he always seemed to miss one, always seemed to miss a key option, some missing link). He bites his lip, looks at the floor and bounces Noah once to get a better grip on him. The boy's tired, leaning more and more toward him as he rubs a hand over the child's back.]

[Not like this, anyway. Wolfwood can see his friend doing a lot of shit he's unhappy with, sometimes; ever since his stay in Luceti once before, he's tried to be a better person, but even he has limits to his mercy, his optimism. That said...]

[Vash nods along with what Wolfwood says, but doesn't believe it. It didn't matter that he didn't have a choice it still took him much too long to get Noah back. He should have found another way sooner, but he didn't want to upset or fight with Wolfwood right now so he puts the smile back up and doesn't say anything about it.]

That's right. He at least seems really healthy. Eats really well too! And really well behaved for a toddler. Hard to believe considering he has his dad's genes in him.

[He makes a small joke. Wanting the situation to lighten up again a little.] I think I found your jacket at least.

[Noah's practically knocked out on his shoulder drooling, bless him. In the meanwhile, he just grins at that — even if it's a bit fake, like Vash tends to throw him, it's better than nothing.] Thank god. Somebody around here's gotta have style, and it sure isn't you.

Hey! I'll have you know, I happen to have impeccable style! People back home use to try to copy it all the time it was that good! [Sure, it was more the name than the style, but Vash doesn't seem to think that part is worth mentioning.]
