[Accidental Voice]

[Early this morning the droids had swooped down on Vash during one of his regular trips through the woods. They came fast and hit hard so he had no time to give warning, but it's alright. As he was back by the afternoon, his journal falling open on the ground as he's returned. Only it shows a small boy with long, blond hair with a blindfold over his eyes, a pointy, party hat on his head, and a small strip of paper in his hand. The boy feels around blindly for a moment.]

Come on guys. Am I getting close? Why's it suddenly so cold. Knives? Rem? [A pause and he flails his arms a bit more.] ...Joey? Is this some kind of joke, because I don't really like it. [Finally he pushes up the blindfold.] Hey! This isn't the ship! [There's a pause, and suddenly a smile breaks out on the boy's face.] This is Luceti, isn't it!?



[He looks around, finally spotting the journal and quickly picking it up.] Hi everyone! The snow's all gone! I went home for a little bit, but now I'm back! Is Nicholas still here? Or Sanji?

[Then suddenly, his smile breaks into a pout.] HEY! I didn't even get a piece of cake yet! [That's just not fair!]

[Tiny Vash will be making his way to the village to explore everything again. He'll be sure to stop by the Flower Shop also the bakery and Seventh Heaven for food. Also the clothing store as his clothes aren't exactly early spring appropriate. He'll also play around the fountain for a bit. Feel free to run into him anywhere!

Of course, for the next couple weeks he'll also be staying at House 5 causing mischief for the Trigun members.]

[That Vash is anything other than a regular human has never occurred to Vivi, so this is throwing her for somewhat of a loop.] If you're only a year old, then...yes. Normally, a person would still be just a baby at that age.

...who's "we"? [Any awkwardness with the adult Vash is forgotten in light of this minor mystery.]

Knives! He's my twin brother! We're the only kids on the ship, so I'm not sure how normal people age. [Nope. Not phased at all.]

[Vivi nods slowly in response to that. Then, carefully:] Do you mean that you and Knives-kun aren't normal people?

[Well. That much seems clear, if what he's saying is true, but she'd like to hear it from his perspective.]

No, we're Plants!

...you- you aren't scared of me are you?

[She shakes her head quickly and emphatically.] No, of course not, Vash-kun. We're...we're friends. [And she smiles, to show him that's true--despite the unfortunate events on the beach, or the fact that he doesn't remember her right now.]

[And only once that's taken care of will she backtrack.] A plant? Like a tree or flower? [That doesn't really seem right either, but--]

[She stops, biting her lower lip slightly. She probably shouldn't be asking about this, should she? If Vash never mentioned it to her, then perhaps he hadn't meant for her to know? Or maybe it just hadn't occurred to him. Either way, she decides she really shouldn't pry any further. It doesn't seem fair.]

[Vash actually lets out a heavy breath. He didn't even know he had been holding his breath.] No, in my world, Plants are organic life forms that humans made. They're kinda part machine and part organic as they have their own thoughts and live, but they can't live without the machines they're attached to. Rem says they have the power to create anything so long as their treated right.

Knives and I were born from them, so we don't have to survive on the life support systems like they do I guess.

But- you're still not afraid of me, right?

[She almost cuts him off as he launches into his explanation, but she doesn't want to give him the wrong idea--and quite frankly, it is fascinating to hear, though she feels a bit guilty. Vivi supposes she'll have to make sure to speak to Vash properly about this when he's an adult again.]

[For now, she simply shakes her head again, smile returning.] Why would I be afraid of you, Vash-kun?

[chibiremlover]

Um... well, [He looks down at his fingers, starting to play with them slightly.] Because, because I'm different. Sometimes people are afraid of things that are different. And, um, well, I think they do anyway. [He's still not sure what he did to make Steve hate him.] Or hate them for it. I don't know... I just don't want you to think I'm a monster is all. I try to be good everyday just like Rem tells me to.

[alabastajewel]

...I would never think that.

[chibiremlover]

Good! I'm glad!

[alabastajewel]

You know...I bet I'll see you soon. [Considering they're neighbors and all. She'll just have to keep an eye out for someone bringing him next door.]

[chibiremlover]

Oh? Are you in the forest too?

[alabastajewel]

No. But keep an eye out for me later, all right? [She smiles playfully, not about to explain further unless he asks.]

[chibiremlover]

Oh! Okay! I will! [And so Vash assumes she's talking about how small Luceti is.

Would she like to surprise him later at home while he's playing in some mud puddles?]

[alabastajewel]

[AS A MATTER OF FACT, SHE WOULD. At first she simply comes up quietly behind him, leaving enough distance that she won't be immediately noticed, and watches him at play.]

[chibiremlover]

[He's been dressed in a rain coat and boats. He laughs and keeps running to the closest, biggest puddle he can find before he launches himself into the air and lands in it with both feet.]

BOOM! Splash!

[Vivi searches the ground nearby until she finds a small stone. She waits until Vash makes another jump, then tosses the rock underhand so it arcs high in the air and lands just in front of him with a smaller, but still impressive splash.]

[chibiremlover]

Oh! [Vash is indeed impressed by that splash. Did he do that? He has trouble believing that so he turns to look if someone from his house had come out.]

Vivi-san! Hi! I did see you really soon!

[alabastajewel]

[Vivi waves, smiling.] I had a feeling...

[chibiremlover]

Did you know where Nicholas lived? Is that how you found me so fast?

[alabastajewel]

[Well, that's also true, but Vivi giggles and points to the house next door.] I saw you from the window.

[chibiremlover]

The windo-OH! You mean you live next door!?

[alabastajewel]

That's right! Looks like we're neighbors, Vash-kun.

[She feels a slight twinge once she says that; when Vash is back to normal, she really does need to stop avoiding him.]

[...thankfully, she probably won't have to worry about that for a week or so. >.>]

We are!? That's great! I'm glad to have a neighbor like you, Vivi-san! [He may just like adding -san to her name.]

[And she finds it cute, but it also makes for a greater distinction between this younger version of Vash and his regular self, which quite frankly, is welcome.] Thank you. I feel the same way.
