goldenglasses: Maker on LJ (DONUT!)

[Vash had been depressed the past few days. And with good reason. Coming back from the dead after spending some time as a zombie is sure to make anyone upset. Only he can't stay home and mope all the time. Time to try to get outside and try to cheer up at least a little.

He slides on some brown slacks and a dark blue sweater. The leather and his typical red coat just being too much work to put on for what he feels could be a quick run. He starts to try to get his hair to stand up in it's typical spiky-ness, but it's being stubborn. A messy hair day will just have to do.

His goal today is to stop by the bakery, pick up some donuts, and do some people watching by the fountain. Something he has always loved doing. He enters the bakery in typical fashion. Cheerfully loud and asking for two dozen of their freshest donuts!

Oh, the lovely smell of donuts, it's been too long since he's had one. In fact, maybe he should share this moment! He takes out his journal to speak into it.]

Hello people of Luceti! I know a lot of you are new here lately and it all might seem a bit scary at times, but try to keep your chin up! Take enjoyment out of the little things! Like the bakery! Ahh! Just smelling these perfect little pieces of heaven could bring a smile to anyone's face! Yes! A fresh donut in the morning can make any dark day better! AND WITHOUT FURTHER ADO!

[He bites into it with a cry of nearly pure ecstasy..] AHHHH! It taste just like heaven too! So warm and delectable it's just... just... it's just...

[Suddenly the journal falls out of Vash's hand and it bounces to the ground. Saving Luceti from the view, but not the sounds of heavy and violent retching. It lasts a few minutes and leaves Vash panting for breath.]

What- don't tell me... THAT'S JUST NOT FAIR!

[What was his message of looking on the bright side? Vash is a bit bitter right now as he stands outside the bakery, staring at his donuts in horror. Can he really not eat them anymore!? The journal feed will eventually cut off to the sound of Vash cursing the Malnosso to the end of his days.]

So it's not quite so sensitive.

Only because it's personal.
neverplaysfair: (That was a nice distraction.)

More like I'm not the one having my favorite food that I can no longer eat dangled in my face. No disrespect to the cooks here, but none of them can make a bowl of ramen the way Ken Doi can.
neverplaysfair: (Shame it didn’t work out.)

Sympathy was never my strongest suit. I prefer a more objective outlook.

You're denied one single food which is actually not that healthy in the first place. Objectively, this isn't that bad at all.

You can always find another vice in the meantime.

And yet you can't indulge in it now. That narrows down your options.

Of course it's not fair. But you're the one who died.

I like to think I provide perspective.

The consequences don't change just because you look at the actions differently. If anything, owning your part of the fault may give you more incentive to work through this.

Why are donuts so important that you can't get over them?

And how about the second most delicious?
