[Today Vash is at the Battle Dome. Not usually his favorite place in Luceti, but even an expert gunman needs to practice if he wants to be ready for anything a draft might throw at him. So he's running a few simulations.
He's set the settings and enemies to random, but cranked the difficult level up to high. It doesn't give him much trouble. Even the first setting on the moon doesn't slow him down. He easily compensates the weightlessness, gliding around easily enough. The fact that his gun doesn't work is a problem at first, but he gets good at sneaking around the robots that come after him and takes them down hand to hand and with a knife hidden in his boots.
The next is in a forest. This time it's panthers and other exotic creatures that are after him. Not to mention the hunters in there that are not happy to see Vash at all. It doesn't take long to shoot out their legs and ditch the animals. The scene changes quickly.
Old Western. Now THIS was familiar a small town filled to the brim with bandits. Very familiar. He shoots quickly, bandits fall one by one by one. Clutching at arms and legs when suddenly a man appears, that looks strikingly like Vash himself, and without even a second thought Vash shoots him right between the eyes.]
STOP! [The scenario stops but takes a moment to disappear. Vash stares down at his brother until he vanishes. With a sigh he runs his hand through his hair. It was getting long and shaggy.] I messed it up again. I should have- [He shakes his head.] Can't change the past. [He exits the room, having enough of this and grabs his journal.]
[Voice]

Anyone a hair stylist? I think I need a trim. Or maybe even a change. [He makes sure to give the journal a nice, happy grin.] And to everyone new coming in I hope you're able to settle in! Things may not always seem so great here, but it's not all bad, right? At least the food is free! It's nice not having to worry about having spare cash on you all the time!

Say that again?

He also really, really shouldn't laugh at your misfortune because no doubt this is a result of either an experiment, or your recent death, which Sanji is not going to dwell on.
But...
B-but...]
Is that right?
My shitty condolences for your loss.
[Freedom.]
[Voice]
You better not even be thinking about laughing! This is just one of the most horrible things that have ever happened to me and - you probably are thinking about laughing, aren't you!?

Sorry Vash, he'll apologize in a second... after he gets this out of his system.]

Aah, there you are. Sorry about that. [Look at how sorry he looks]

Could I just get a hambur- [No wait, buns.] A steak or something? I'm starving.
[Action]
That he can't bother the chef for donuts just means Sanji's temper will hold out longer.]
Think of it as a shitty favor! Now you don't have to worry about watching your figure.

[Frankly, Sanji's more curious about the withdrawal symptoms. Can you get addicted to donuts?]

Oi, where's your coat? I forgot you had more clothes than your usual outfit.

New hair-style might be nice to go with the new look, too.
