[It hasn't been too long since Vash's outburst over the journal. With the lost of all his friends who have become his family he was finally ready to try the one thing he hadn't yet tried on the barrier. Before he had held back, afraid he might not be able to handle the power and at what cost it might be. Now, in order to have a chance to find Noah again, he didn't care.

Those in Luceti around midday on the tenth will be able to see a large, bright flash of light in the far distance to the west. Anyone who can sense power levels will suddenly sense a IMMENSE and sudden surge of power and energy. In there was a chart, would would be way, way, WAY over nine thousand. Then just as suddenly as it was there, it's gone again.

For those west of Luceti near the barrier (or those who decide to try to rapid travel there) will find there is now a rather large crater where all trees, grass, and snow have been utterly obliterated. All that's left is an untouched barrier and a man dressed in a black heavy winter coat who's missing his right arm sleeve.

And his journal, who's cover had been blown away in the explosion. So those not near the barrier can still see Vash standing, a bit weak in the knees as he stares in anger at the barrier.]

DAMN IT! It didn't even leave a mark!? [Not that he REALLY expected it to do anything, but he had to try. Unaware that his journal... now half a journal is opened he moves towards his pack and starts pull out clothes to find the extra jacket he brought with him before he starts headed for home again.]

If you want me not to worry, you should tell me what's going on. You tried to get through the barrier, that much is clear.

I wanted to just test it. I wanted to make sure I tried everything to get Noah back.

[Vivi deflates a little at that, irritation at Vash's evasiveness fading.]

...you're not blaming yourself, are you?

No. I'm not. [Okay, somewhat.] But I'm not letting that stop me from doing everything to get him back.

Good. You shouldn't. [Vivi pauses, absently drumming her nails against the top of her desk.]

So what's next?

I'm headed back to town now.

Then...

[She pauses, unsure if she should ask. It's not as if she wants Vash to give up hope, but she's also not sure if there's anything he can do now.] ...is there anything else for us to try? [Yes, "us." Because if there's anything more to be done, Vivi intends to help, now that she knows the situation.]

No. We're still trapped here and they're out there.

[She sighs a little; she can't help it. At least, though, it seems Vash has no other ideas up his sleeve. Maybe that's not exactly a good thing, but right now she'd much rather see him back safely.]

You're coming here, aren't you?

I'm heading back to the village, but I've moved into an apartment before I left. [As he's not exactly sure what she meant by 'here'. His old home or just the village.]

[By 'here', she means House 6 specifically--he did, after all, promise. But she's not even thinking about that as something else he says steals her attention.]

You moved?

[Sorry Vivi, he forgot that promise some time ago.]

Yeah, it's just me now. I'm sure there's other people in Luceti living together who could use that space.

I understand that, but... [There's the fact that he apparently moved immediately, even before taking off on his solitary trip, for one thing. And...]

[She scrubs a hand over her face.]

You know...you'd be welcome to stay with us, Vash-san. It's been a lot emptier around here, too, and I doubt any of the others would mind. [A smile.] Wouldn't that be better? [It has to be better than him living alone, at least, doesn't it?]

No, it's alright. I'm use to living on my own.

[It's just too close to the house his family lived in. And he's not ready to try again for a new one.]

[She's not sure how to take that. His attitude is hard to read right now. Well, she won't push right now, but...]

At least stay the night once you get back? [Because as far as she knows, he's still going to come over to House 6 like he said he would before.]

[Welp. Seems like he forgot his earlier promise. Vivi's face, already somber, falls.]

[If he ever remembers what he forgot he'll feel terrible for it later. Right now, things are so hectic and traumatic in his mind it's a little hard to focus.]
