Those of you who met a little girl during the last experiment, who might have said her name was Tesla, she was not a little girl. She was my brother, Knives. He was looking for me and if you told him you knew me, [a pause] you could be in danger. I’m sorry, but any of my friends, even if you don’t know me that well, [even if you don’t know me] you shouldn’t leave yourself unprotected. I don’t know what he might be thinking or planning, but he’s never treated people I know very well.

Knives looks a lot like me, but with shorter and lighter hair. He also has a man named Legato working for him. He has blue hair and yellow eyes. Stay away from them if you can. If they come after you, call for help. They are very strong and have mental abilities that can turn even the strongest fighter into a rag doll. Please, do not go after them on your own.

[After answering the questions people may ask, Vash decides to work off some of this building frustration and anger towards his brother. He’s at the battle dome and he’ll be in there until he’s kicked out, finger bleeding, shooting at anything the simulation will throw at him without killing the targets. He can create blades from his body and can extend them in what seems to be an unlimited distance. He can also absorb bullets and shoot them back if fired upon. And...

And he can create a gun that can destroy a major city in seconds.

...What? [Erza doesn't consider the first point to be that bad - she basically does the same thing with her own magic. The second simply means to stick with explosives and melee weapons rather than guns, but that last one...] That's the sort of power that an ancient super-weapon has! How can one man control that kind of force?

We are Plants, but probably not in the way you imagine. We were born from a Plant; a mix of machine and organic life created by man to help them cultivate a new planet for humans to live on.

He's my brother, so we are the same.

[So much of this conversation is going over her head; such is the problem of coming from a relatively medieval world.] Okay, first of all, how do you "cultivate" a new planet? Actually, how do you get to a new planet? And why did humans have to leave their old one?

Their planet had been damaged beyond repair and couldn't handle all of the people on it anymore. So they went into space to find a new planet. [Vash is guessing this is all new for you and lets that sink in before working on answering the rest.]

How did - ? How could - ? ...You know what, I'm probably better off not knowing.

Yeah, that might be a good idea. [He really didn't want to explain anyway.]

So how about you? What sort of powers do you have?

I can only do some of the things he can. He's stronger than I am.

That doesn't mean anything. Back home, my friends seem to have a habit of running head-first into threats that they couldn't possibly handle on their own looking at it in terms of strength and experience, but they always manage to win regardless. It's strength of spirit, not strength of body, that matters in the end.

I know so. Don't give up on yourself, and everything will turn out fine. [Then again, Fairy Tail runs on "right makes might" most of the time - I've only read two volumes of the Trigun manga, so I don't know how optimistic either the anime or manga is as a whole aside from Vash's general idealism.]
