[Vash today is standing outside of Community Building Four staring up into the rain, a happy smile on his face and laughing joyfully. His arms stretched out, he’s already drenched, but doesn’t seem to mind. After a few minutes he opens his journal.]

Hey Meryl! It’s raining outside! [Would anyone care to explain to him what a raincoat is?]

Hey there! Yeah! I never got to see a lot of rain when I was younger. I like this kinda thing! Except if I'm trying to eat a sandwich in the rain.

[Sighs] Not really... no. I've heard some theories that the Malnosso are testing things on us in order to do some sort of ‘shift’ on themselves… or something. I don’t know - it’s hard to predict these people.

Yeah. I don't like that idea... experimenting people and hurting them. There's the upside of bringing all of us together, though, right?
