[Vash can be found sitting on a bench in the plaza, his glasses on and a very grim look upon his face as he looks the place over. He’s thinking back to the incident with Kefka. A man died and he hadn’t been able to stop it. There must have been a way. What had he missed? He’ll be sitting there for a while, teeth clenching as he tries to figure out what he did wrong. Meryl is welcome to pick up/comment on the sober mood he’s probably been in the past day or so.]

[Knocked Sanji out at the beginning and take off running with Kefka? He’s quiet for a nearly a good minute. It may seem like he’s not going to answer before he finally speaks again.] I should have tried harder to make others understand. Tried to stop more attacks.

Hmm, that might have bought you some time. To be frank, however, I think it would have merely prolonged the inevitable. It is my understanding that those present had more reason to engage Kefka in battle than my crew, even, and holding back us alone would have been near impossible enough for you.

Vash-san... I know this upsets you, and I do not mean this to sound cold. But there are far worse punishments than merely dying. It may not give us the right to take a life, mind, but there are far crueler things that could have been done.

You have every right not to, and I would not blame you. Life is a very precious thing... and in most instances you get but one chance at it.

Just because it shouldn't be an option though doesn't mean that some will not make it one. You cannot be at fault for that.
