[Vash can be found sitting on a bench in the plaza, his glasses on and a very grim look upon his face as he looks the place over. He’s thinking back to the incident with Kefka. A man died and he hadn’t been able to stop it. There must have been a way. What had he missed? He’ll be sitting there for a while, teeth clenching as he tries to figure out what he did wrong. Meryl is welcome to pick up/comment on the sober mood he’s probably been in the past day or so.]

[Quietly] That's what I'm trying to do. Find what it was I could have done. Mistakes are made... but if you realize them - it's not too late.

A-and his spells. I'll need a way to counter them... [He's not emo-ing totally without purpose. Okay... partly without purpose. Maybe a lot without purpose - but there is some purpose to it.]

...there have to be ways of negating magic here. Or at least fighting fire with fire, so to speak. Your best bet would be to talk to Terra on that one. Or maybe check on the journals, see if anyone can give you advice. Killing isn't a solution here, even if you didn't have your particular belief. There has to be other people here that are thinking of solutions.

...Kefka isn't the most powerful person here. Or at least, he wasn't. So ask around. I don't think you don't know Luceti well enough to come up with a solution by yourself.
