[Today Vash was out enjoying the snowfall. He hit the usual places, the flower shop, the bakery, Good Spirits for a drink. He did a little people watching near the fountain before finally hitting the item shop. Where he found a pair of skates that just happened to be his size.

He thought it over for a bit, then decided: what else did he have to do today? So off he went towards the nearest lake and strapped the ice skates on. Only he found out fairly quickly that ice skates don't work so well when the ice is covered in snow.

So after putting his boots back on, another trip back to the item shop, he returns with a shovel and clears an area. Alright! He can do this! He puts the ice skates back on, stands up, and-

-promptly falls over.]

WHAAAAAAAAAA! [Over and over again. He'll slowly start to get the hang of it, but feel free to come and laugh or help him until that point. At one point his journal will even fall out of his pocket. So feel free to also point and laugh at him from the comfort of your own, warm home!]

Yiyiayiyiaia Ow. That really hurt.

It couldn't hurt. Hahahhaha............. could it? [He means, Hope couldn't even help him up. Don't blame him if he's all little worried.]

It... it shouldn't. [Lifting his hand, Hope sends a few waves of Cure the man's way, a sort of glowing energy that flows over him before dissipating.]

There. Ah... it's not as powerful here than back home, but it should do the trick, at least. [He almost wants to try and help him up again but... yeah, that's probably not a good idea. He might break something else and have to endure more screeching!]

It feels like it did it's trick. I feel much better and a whole lot less bruised now! [Vash isn't ready to try again just yet. He takes a moment to adjust his scarf before he decides to try again.

NO HE'S NOT STALLING. WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT?!]

Good. [With a sigh, Hope gingerly rises to his feet and brushes himself off.] Is this your first time ice skating?

Yeah it is! I saw some people trying it out before and it look fairly easy! But it's actually a lot harder than it looks!

[contempsi]

Y-yeah... um, I haven't tried it here yet, but they had indoor places back at home. I wasn't very good at it.

[He stares at the guy.] ...Are you even going to try to get up at all or just lie there the whole time?

[goldenglasses]

I... uh, well, um... [He had thought about sitting there until the guy left. That way he wouldn't see him fall again, but now that he's been called out.]

I was just about to do that! [Slowly Vash pushes himself up and stands on shaky legs. He probably won't stay upright for too much longer though.]

[contempsi]

Maybe you should... ah... find something to balance yourself against. Like a tree or something. Then you won't fall as much while you try to learn how to stand on the skates.

[Hope watches him try to stand up again, automatically outstretching an arm in case he fails. Not that it'll do much good, but...]

[He's a little shaky, but he gets himself up. One of the things all the falls have taught him is how to get back up.]

That might work, but most of the trees are too far away from the edge of the lake. They're not as hard to stand on the ground in, well, they're hard, but they're even harder when you add in the slippery ice!

Um... y-yeah, I guess that's true.

[Whew, at least the guy can stand up this time. Hope's not sure he can handle another slippery incident. He feels bad enough already, even if tall and spiky here is obviously a moron!

He glances toward the bank of the lake, scoping out a nearby tree.]

H-hey, I have an idea. I could hold onto the tree, and you can grab my hand. That way I can balance myself better, and... um, then maybe we won't fall again.

Better late than never, right? 8D

Oh! If you're worried about falling you can go and get off the ice. I'll be alright! I'm use to falling!

Well, I meant to try and help... [Hope sighs a little, shaking his head.]

Um... what's your name, by the way? I'm Hope.

Me? [As you could have been talking to the snowflakes.] My name's Vash!

Yes, you. [Another little huff of a sigh.] Hi, Vash. Um... are you always like this?

Like what?

[He tries to think of a... nicer way to word it?]

Uncoordinated...?

Yes. Because I always walk around on ice with blades on my feet. NO I'M NOT ALWAYS THIS UNCOORDINATED!

Ah...! R-right, um... nice to meet you?

Yeah, nice to meet you too. Do you usually go walking around on skates or something if you think I'm that bad it.

[contempsi]

No, I—

[Hope trails off, blinking a little.]

... hey, there's an idea. You could try to walk in the skates over dry land! Then you can... well, you can learn to balance on the blades first without also having to deal with overcoming the ice at the same time. Y-you can take it one step at a time.

[goldenglasses]

Maybe? Although I think I could actually do that already if I had to.

[contempsi]

Can you? [The boy claps his hands together.] Okay. Let's see if you can, then.

[goldenglasses]

Alright. [Carefully Vash moves off the ice and onto the land. He's actually not too bad standing on the dry land.]

[contempsi]

Right. [Hope follows after him, making his slippery way across the ice and onto the bank.]

Um... Now try actually walking on them.

Alright. [It's not the most graceful looking walk, but it's done fairly easily.]
