[Today Vash was out enjoying the snowfall. He hit the usual places, the flower shop, the bakery, Good Spirits for a drink. He did a little people watching near the fountain before finally hitting the item shop. Where he found a pair of skates that just happened to be his size.

He thought it over for a bit, then decided: what else did he have to do today? So off he went towards the nearest lake and strapped the ice skates on. Only he found out fairly quickly that ice skates don't work so well when the ice is covered in snow.

So after putting his boots back on, another trip back to the item shop, he returns with a shovel and clears an area. Alright! He can do this! He puts the ice skates back on, stands up, and-

-promptly falls over.]

WHAAAAAAAAAA! [Over and over again. He'll slowly start to get the hang of it, but feel free to come and laugh or help him until that point. At one point his journal will even fall out of his pocket. So feel free to also point and laugh at him from the comfort of your own, warm home!]

Yiyiayiyiaia Ow. That really hurt.

Alright! Let me just switch out of these skates! Will you hand me those boots over there!

Yup!

[He grabs them, and trots on back over to the man in the red coat.]

My name is Yugo, by the way. What's yours?

I'm Vash! He'd offer a hand to shake, but he's busy getting the skate off of his foot and switching it for his boots.]

[Yugo understands; he takes the time to grab his bird and tuck it back into one of his pockets, to protect it from the cold weather.]

Vash? That's a cool name! It's nice meeting you.

[goldenglasses]

[Vash gets his boots on and stands up.] Same here! Now let's go get those donuts!

Yeah! Let's!

[Pause.]

...do you know the way back from here?

Yeah, I do. Were you lost out here kid!?

I can probably find my way back, but it will take longer. I'm new around here, and it's easy to get turned around in the snow.

[goldenglasses]

New, huh? Well, welcome to Luceti! Glad you ran into me then! I know right where the village is! Actually if you follow the river from this lake it will take you to the village!

[coolportaljumper]

Really? That's pretty handy to know! And thank you. This place is very different from my home, and it's confusing sometimes.

[goldenglasses]

I'm sure it can be. There's so many different people to meet just to start with. So what world do you come from?

[coolportaljumper]

We call it the World of Twelve, because our islands are ruled by twelve clans, all with different talents and skills. The ocean is big, though. We don't really know what lies beyond our islands.

What kind of world is yours?

[goldenglasses]

World of Twelve, huh? So which would out of the twelve are you from?

And my world is pretty boring. Just one big dessert.

[coolportaljumper]

Well, there's more than twelve clans. There's a lot of people who don't have powers too, and there are also others who keep to themselves, don't want to be associated with the government, or are almost completely gone.

Your world is a big desert? How do people survive?

[goldenglasses]

Oh, I see. And well, we survive by working together! [Or so Vash wishes.]

Ah...[Though young, Yugo has seen enough of his world to know that such things aren't easy anywhere.] I wish that was so in my world.

[goldenglasses]

Well, it's not always easy. Sometimes there's fighting... now and then. But if we didn't work to get along I'm not sure we could really survive.

[coolportaljumper]

...It's probably like that everywhere. [It was strange, to think that the many different worlds would be similar in some small way.]

Anyway, donuts?
