[Today Vash was out enjoying the snowfall. He hit the usual places, the flower shop, the bakery, Good Spirits for a drink. He did a little people watching near the fountain before finally hitting the item shop. Where he found a pair of skates that just happened to be his size.

He thought it over for a bit, then decided: what else did he have to do today? So off he went towards the nearest lake and strapped the ice skates on. Only he found out fairly quickly that ice skates don't work so well when the ice is covered in snow.

So after putting his boots back on, another trip back to the item shop, he returns with a shovel and clears an area. Alright! He can do this! He puts the ice skates back on, stands up, and-

-promptly falls over.]

WHAAAAAAAAAA! [Over and over again. He'll slowly start to get the hang of it, but feel free to come and laugh or help him until that point. At one point his journal will even fall out of his pocket. So feel free to also point and laugh at him from the comfort of your own, warm home!]

Yiyiayiyiaia Ow. That really hurt.

Yeah, I'm trying to teach myself to ice skate. Have you ever ice skated before?

Of course not, that seems so .. silly.

You certainly didn't look as if you were having any fun.

W-well it does take a little bit of work and practice at first! But it's a lot of fun when I can stay up!

Of course. [ .. (troll) .. ] But why do something like that? How is it more interesting than just running? Or flying?

Well, for one, I can't fly! And it's all for fun! I don't think there really need to be much more of a why than that!

[ oh, right. you can't fly. that sucks. everybody having those dinky wings here is THROWING HIM OFF his own are so much more practical for flying. ]

Yeah, but turns out its a lot harder than it first looked, but that might just make it even more satisfying once you learn it.

Perhaps. But you should take care not to hurt yourself.

[ he doesn't want to have to scrape you up off of the ice and sing you all better. ]

Oh! Don't worry at that! I'm great at falling down! I'm sure I won't hurt myself too badly! [Too bad he doesn't know that's something he shouldn't be proud of.]

Pretty sure! I'd like to think myself an expert in falling over! Although next time I try this I might tie a pillow to my knees and backside!

What are you up to today? Just flying around the forest for fun?

No, I'm .. practicing.

Practicing? Do you not normally have wings?

I'm not accustomed to having four of them.

[ really messes with his balance, yanno. ]

Oh! Do those other wings really mess you up that badly?

More than you'd think. Can you imagine trying to walk with four legs? Two of them deformed and weak and nearly useless?

Yeah, I guess that would be kinda strange. I've just never flown before so I have no idea what it's like.

I couldn't imagine being unable to fly. It would be awful.

I don't know! I do a pretty good job at getting around! Well, when I'm not on blades and ice!

I suppose so. One cannot miss what they've never known.

Yeah, I bet flying is pretty great. I've thought about it now and then. Seems like a lot of fun.
