[Vash had been mentally preparing himself for this day. Yet, he still wasn't ready when May 9th came around. The day his life had changed forever. For whatever reason his journal kicks itself on and it catches sight of Vash cleaning a large cross. Only one of the arms is open showing a row of handguns. Vash is very carefully giving the Cross Punisher a full tune up and cleaning. At the moment he's got one of the smaller handgun apart and checking it for any possible malfunctions before giving it a cleaning and putting it back in it's place.]

Hard to believe it's been another year already. [He talks out loud to himself. Or his two cats as he's unaware the journal turned itself on.] Noah would be two years old today. I'm sure that kid is doing just fine. After all, with parents like that no wise person would stand a chance messing with him.

[He dabs at an eye that's starting to water.] Don't worry; kid. We haven't given up on you. It may take a little more time, but I promise to find you. I will. [His hands slip and he ends up dropping part of the gun. With a soft chuckle he picks it up again. Dropping things when no one was around to see. It just wasn't like him.] Heh. Opps.

[Vash falls quiet as he continues on his chore. His back turned to the camera, but he often drops things and has to pick them up again. The outlaw's shoulders start to shake the more his fingers fumble and yes, those are soft sobs that can be heard. Thinking he's alone he's not at all ashamed by his tears.] I just... I really hope- where ever you are... I hope you have a happy birthday, Noah.

[Action]

[When he's finished his task Vash will clean himself up and hit up his usual haunts as he leaves the ice building. Helping with the flowers at Azalea. Working with a happy smile and having lunch at Seventh Heaven. Now that his death penalty was removed he'll pick up a "light" snack of a dozen doughnuts from the bakery. Munching them as he takes a short walk around the forest before winding up in Good Spirits to end the day.]

[Karis may be in for a small surprise when Vash eventually enters Good Spirits later that day. If he had spent the afternoon sobbing, which he had, it doesn't show in the smile he has on his face or the jovial tone to his voice.]

Hello, every one! Nice night out! HAHAHHAA! [He shouts it to no one in particular. Not even expecting a greeting back as he sits himself down at the bar.] Let's start with a glass of the good bourbon tonight! [He'll call out to the bartender. He hasn't yet noticed Karis in the bar.]

[Vash's shouting makes her jump enough where she almost spills her drink. She simply stares, dumbfounded at how happy he seemed. Karis finally shakes herself out of her dumbfounded state to actually say something.] By the archmages Vash, you know how to make someone almost jump out of their skin by that shouting alone! [She smiles at her exaggeration.]

Hehehe! You know, I actually get told that a lot for some strange reason! BUW AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!

If it wasn't for the fact that you just entered the place, I would of mistook you for already being drunk! [His laughter is quite contagious, as now she's laughing too!]

[Good. Vash was at his happiest when the people around him were happy. So he just laughs some more as she joins in. A bit softer at least now.] Hahahaha! Am I really that bad? [Not that he seems to mind.]

Haha, naaaaaaaaaaaah. [She waves her free hand lazily before taking a swig of her drink.] At least not compared to someone I know. [She shakes her head.] He can wake up an entire crew without using an intercom if he wanted to.

Wow! That's pretty impressive! But they say people with a loud laugh are good people! Hard to be unhappy around such a happy guy like that!

[She laughs rather sheepishly.] You would think... [Vash, you don't want to know the type of things he's said.] Sadly not everyone is all smiles and laughs around him, it's hard to get some to smile though when they're grumpy almost all the time.

Yeah, I know a couple people like that. Can be a bit of a downer sometimes, but when you do manage to get them laughing then it's even better!

Indeed! It's even greater when you can get at least a smile on someone who's a real stick in the mud. I have yet to accomplish that, but part of me thinks the day I do is the day that I actually grow fully fledged wings, and not have these dinky little things. [She jabs her thumb over her shoulder and in the direction of her wings, which flex a little.] At least their coloration is pretty cool.

[Vash laughs ather example.] I'm sure if you don't give up on it you'll eventually get them to crack a smile and laugh.

Soon as we get that stick out of her butt, then we're all good. [She decides not to add her additional thought to that, but it's got her snickering.]

Well! I believe in you! So don't give up! It may not be easy at times, but keep cracking jokes!

Well, if I keep cracking jokes, I might need a bit of cheese with them. [Oh archmages, here we go.]

But why would you need-- [Then suddenly he gets it. His face lighting up as he breaks out in loud laughter.] Cheese! You should get a lot of cheese! Cheese is some of the best way to make someone smile!

Maybe I can get them to smile if I just go "say cheese!" [She's going to be doing this until she goes home if no one stops her...]

Hehe, I don't know. Sometimes those sticks in the mud need a little more of a nudge with jokes then the simple ones! I wish you all the luck with it!

I think a stand-up comedian would be better to try and make a certain someone I know laugh! [Because no other crew member could make them laugh...] Speaking of which, are there any stand-up comedians in Luceti? It would be really nice to see one having a show going here.

You know, I don't think we've ever had a comedy show put on here. Must not be too many stand-up comedians come through here. Or at least ones that feel like putting on a show.

[How disappointing.] Well that blows, but I guess it can't really be helped. Though it would still be nice to have one, especially if there's ever a bad case of shifts. A few good laughs may certainly bright up someone's mood after that sort of thing, maybe. [She shrugs.]

Hey! Nothing saying we couldn't start one up at any time! Shifts or no shifts a good laugh could be used any day!

[By the archmages, she hopes that when Vash says "we" he means those in Luceti and not the two of them!] Yeah, you're right! Laughing is, supposedly, a healthy thing anyway, so it's nice to have a good amount of it whenever you can, not just after certain events!

[Indeed he does. Vash isn't very good at planning things.] Exactly! Although I suppose we'd have to find a comedian first. I use to know one guy who was pretty funny and could have been a pretty good stand up, but he's been sent back home.

[Oh thank goodness.] Ah, really? Well, maybe one day he might come back? [Who knows...] What was his name?

Sokka. He use to run the smithy. Pretty good guy really.
