[Vash woke up early on the morning of the 18th. His birthday. Another year in Luceti and another year older. He was what... 135, 136 now? It's a bit iffy with the way time works in Luceti. He pets the cats for a bit before moving onto his morning training. Once that's done he washes, styles his hair, finishes off breakfast, and opens the journal.]

Heyyyyyyy, Luceti! I know this place can be a bit awful sometimes, but never forget what this world and all worlds are really made of! For you see, this world is really made of--

LOVE AND PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE!

[As he shouts at the top of his lungs into the journals he also pumps his arms. Fingers spread in a V sign for peace up near his head, then the fingers cross together as he pumps his arm forward. He repeats the motion over and over as he shouts.] LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! LOVE! AND! PEACE! Everybody join in! LOVE! AND! PEACE!

[He couldn't think of a better way to celebrate his birthday then by not focusing on himself, but spreading the idea of love and peace.]

[Inwardly, he smiles to himself. Look, he pressed a button.]

Have you ever fought in a real battle before? Not everyone shares your ideal way of thinking. Especially those who are trying to destroy you.

Of course I know that, but that still doesn't mean peace has to come from bloodshed. There are always other ways.

Is that so? Name one time where that has held true.

[Vegeta can't think of too many times that didn't involve having to kill to attain peace. And even then, it was pretty sketchy...]

I could, but I doubt you'd believe that it worked. [Vash sighs.] So there is no point in arguing it. [Not with Vegeta at any rate. Even if it's days later, that's not what the spirit of this post was suppose to be about.]

Bah. I don't get your type. What's your deal anyway? Always going on and on about peace. [Even Kakarot would kill if he had to, and he's the biggest softie he knows.]

Well, guess I just understand what is so bad about wanting peace.

Want all you like. [He's not against it, not anymore, but it's still...boring.] That doesn't take away the fact that you must fight for it. That means bloodshed.

There's always a way to end a fight without it being fatal. If you're willing to look for it.

That is not a fact. Try fighting a madman that means to destroy the entire universe, and tell me the same then.

[Vash is quiet a moment. Knives wanted to destroy all human life on the planet. He was also pretty sure if his brother could that would extend to the whole universe. Still, that didn't exactly make him one to want to destroy the entire universe and Vash hadn't fought him yet and won. It was where he was headed when he was brought to Luceti.]

I've fought madmen. I admit, none had the abilites to destroy the universe, but there is always another way. If you keep your vision open then you'll be able to see it.

All I could see was several planets exploding before my very eyes! Five of them, gone within half of an hour! There's no reasoning with some, don't you get it?

[He'll never forget that. Ever.]

Everyone can change the way they think. I'm not saying to allow the destruction of planets, but that there is always a way to stop that from happening without killing.

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about! [The very thought of getting Majin Buu to STOP was so absurd he couldn't even believe it.]

You don't stop things like him, only seeking to kill because he enjoys it! Because that's what he was made to do! There is no soul, only destruction. No mercy, a one track mind to annihilate all life in the universe! Are you out of your mind, speaking like that?

No. [Although he knows how it might seem to others.] It's a matter of teaching something else to enjoy. It doesn't have to end in a death.

[Vash's mind suddenly flashes with Legato's smiling face in his last few moments of life. He tries his best to shove that images away and out of his head.]

[He just stares back at Vash. He doesn't think maybe is the right word. He thinks absolutely not is what he should have said.]

Why don't you tell me this. A being that blows himself up, taking the entire planet with him in the process. He reforms, and moves to the next, and blows that one up if he doesn't find what he's looking for. How do you stop that without killing it.

Well, if it just puts itself back together after blowing up I think I would really have to find a way to reason with it. After all, it would just keep coming back if you kill it.

I guess I would start by trying to figure out why he was blowing himself up. What was he looking for?

He was looking for me. [And Goku but details.]

Also, wrong answer. There is no reasoning. It was tried. The only way was to destroy every living cell of it with an attack powerful enough to break through. So how do you end a battle when your opponent cannot be reasoned with? So psychotic that words couldn't possibly get through?

Why was he looking for you then? Maybe from that you could find a way to stop him without killing.

[Ignoring the second bit.]

He was looking for me beacuse we caused him a bit of trouble! [He just looks super annoyed though now because Vash ignored the last part.]

Didn't you hear what I just said, there was no way we could have avoided it! He found us, I'll have you know! And then proceeded to try to kill us with no remorse!

Well, did you try to apologies to him? If you caused him trouble maybe it could have all been avoided if you did. [He doubts it; knowing Vegeta.]

No! We were trying to stop him from destroying the Earth! What's wrong with you?

[He could of sworn he said this guy was a psychotic murderer he could have sworn]

Well, you said he was doing it because he was angry at you. Even if you didn't mean it- [As Vash gets the feeling Vegeta doesn't even know HOW to be sorry.] Maybe he would have stopped.

[He wants to punch Vash into the next planet.]

No. Listen here. That madman only saught to destroy all life in the universe, not because anyone angered him, but because he thinks it's fun. Kakarot begged him not to blow up the Earth and he did it anyway! Our efforts were only to save everyone we cared about! Don't you understand, you idiot?

Apologize, speak with all you want- he would only kill you in the end!
