[Action/Voice] (Due to mun fail of getting her days mixed up, this is forward dated for tomorrow XD)

[The other day Vash had been horrified to find every time he tried to leave the apartment he found his traditional jacket missing and a horrible sweater, pants, hat, make-up, and accessory in its place. Of course, like most, he first tried to rip it off, but of course that failed and now he's decided to just make the best of things.

So he's walking around town, checking out the Halloween decorations, with donuts shoved onto his new 'claw' trying to make the best of the situation. Eventually he takes out his journal.]

So... I'm assuming the forced costume part isn't a normal part of Halloween, is it? The decorations are kinda cute. Well, I guess if you like bats and spiders. The happy-looking pumpkin faces are cute, though. [A pause as he thinks it over.] So, what exactly is this holiday supposed to be about? [No really, he's confused. There's so many cute things mixed in with scary things he's not sure what to think about it.] Something about the dead coming back, so we get candy? How does that exact--[There's a sharp, and rather frightened gasp, as Vash suddenly drops his book and it slams shut.]

Well, that's one explanation. Best as I've been able to tell, different cultures have different explanations. Though the dead are a common theme. On Veldime, at least, it's a celebration of a lot of things. Life, death, family, practical jokes, candy, and fun. Scares and starts are part of the holiday, but you're supposed to enjoy it too, if that makes sense.

I know it's kind of weird, but Halloween's supposed to evoke both. It's just the spirit of the holiday.

Kinda, yeah. Some people celebrate the dead by scaring people, but I think most people realize that we're lucky enough to be alive to celebrate them in the first place. And the candy is a result of a tradition called "Trick or Treating", where people go door-to-door in a costume. The people in the house will usually give them candy as a treat.

Though in the Netherworld, you're likely to get tricked sometimes too, but the tricks are usually just silly things that everyone gets a laugh out of. If you expect it coming, it's much funnier. ...And many times they give you candy afterward anyway.

There are some annoying practical jokes that often get thrown in at Halloween, but honestly, it's the one time of the year where you can count on demons not beating the crap out of each other because they're all too busy having fun.

...Can't speak for demons not in my universe, though.

Well, given the crowd we have here? I think we'll be fine.

Just loosen up and enjoy it, man. It only comes once a year, and if you roll with it, you might make some memories you'll never forget.
