[The other day Vash had been horrified to find every time he tried to leave the apartment he found his traditional jacket missing and a horrible sweater, pants, hat, make-up, and accessory in its place. Of course, like most, he first tried to rip it off, but of course that failed and now he's decided to just make the best of things.

So he's walking around town, checking out the Halloween decorations, with donuts shoved onto his new 'claw' trying to make the best of the situation. Eventually he takes out his journal.]

So... I'm assuming the forced costume part isn't a normal part of Halloween, is it? The decorations are kinda cute. Well, I guess if you like bats and spiders. The happy-looking pumpkin faces are cute, though. [A pause as he thinks it over.] So, what exactly is this holiday supposed to be about? [No really, he's confused. There's so many cute things mixed in with scary things he's not sure what to think about it.] Something about the dead coming back, so we get candy? How does that exact--[There's a sharp, and rather frightened gasp, as Vash suddenly drops his book and it slams shut.]

[Vash notices that, but as you didn't press for what he saw he'll use the same courtesy.] I don't see how this can come in handy for anything. I can't even pick up my drink with it.

Your other hand's still okay, right? [She grins lightly.] Come to think of it, you and Ragna make a great matched set.

Oh? How so? [He hasn't seen Ragna's costume. In fact he hardly knows the guy, but has heard his name before.]

A hook, huh? [He gives each of his clawed fingers a flex.] I guess it is a little better than a hook.

They're easier to eat things with.

[Snrk.] I suppose they are. Just don't, you know, accidentally cut your mouth or something.

It's plastic I'd have to be trying pretty hard to hurt myself on them.

[It is? She takes a closer look. ...huh. Could've sworn they were damn sharp claws, a second ago.]

So they are.

[He speaks with an amused chuckle.] I tried to break the claws off. [Picks up his drink with his left hand and starts to bring it up to his mouth for a sip.] It didn't work, it's a little creepy how fast they can fix themselves.

[He goes to take a drink then suddenly jerks his drink back, sloshing some of the drink onto his hand. For a second there he could have sworn his gun had been in his hand instead. Smoking with blood splattered on it, but it was the wrong hand. Easily dismissed, but still unsettling.]

[Nami takes a sip of her own drink and eyes him carefully, but she doesn't say anything for a few moments.]

Kind of unsettling, isn't it?

Yeah, it is. Mostly because it's so unexpected when it happens.

Tell me about it. Though... I'm kinda getting used to it, oddly. [And if this is the worst the place can throw at her, she'll manage. Ohohoho]

Ah well, they're surprising, but at least they're not real at all. Makes them a little easier to deal with.

Sure it does. [She polishes off her drink.] I just have to wonder how many people in the village are capable of telling the difference.
