[Vash today is standing outside of Community Building Four staring up into the rain, a happy smile on his face and laughing joyfully. His arms stretched out, he’s already drenched, but doesn’t seem to mind. After a few minutes he opens his journal.]

Hey Meryl! It’s raining outside! [Would anyone care to explain to him what a raincoat is?]

[ She leaves the towel on him, sits and dries her own hair. It's not quiet as wet, but she wasn't very good with the umbrella while running. ]

[He'll hand you a cup and sits down with his own. Rubbing absentmindedly at his head with the towel and taking a sip.] A warm drink is nice after being out in the rain.

It really warms you back up, inside out. [ She smiles gently at him. ] Did you like your first experience with rain, Vash?

Yeah! It was really fun! It makes so much noise!

It really drowns out the silence that can fall on this place sometimes.

I really like it! It's kinda like music!

Maybe Mother Nature's playing it for us.

Mmhm, I like that. [Takes a sip of coffee.]

It's got a nice sound to it, doesn't it?

Mmhm, this place isn't all bad really.

You're right. I mean... I miss home, my parents, Milly, even the agency... but at the end of the day, this place is still really nice when it's quiet and normal.

I miss everyone back home too, but it's been a real treat to see all the trees and snow.

I sometimes wish Milly was here to see it too, but then I think about how I'd hate for her to be here when it's not so quiet. I'm sorry you were here for so long by yourself. [Pffft. Way to kill the mood Vash.]

[ She shakes her head. ] Milly was here, for a little while. And... I was alone, at first, but I've met plenty of wonderful people. It was-- It was lonely, but I was okay.

Yeah, there are a lot of interesting people here. [Grins] Like Luffy... [That rubber boy will probably never stop surprising him.]

[ She focses on drinking her coffee for a bit. ]

Yes, like Luffy. Though he's given me my share of heart attacks.

I can imagine he's already given me a couple too...

...he fell from the sky and landed on me once.

He jumped through the window while I was cooking before.

Wait... at this apartment? [He'd believe it but still...]

I should be surprised... I really should. But why am I not?

Because it's actually pretty tame, for Luffy.

There's a lot of really interesting people here. [Grins] It's been fun meeting them.

I'd have to agree... well, on most, not all.

Yes... not all of them.
