[Vash is trying to get the last of his Christmas shopping done and can be spotted in the various shops trying to get ideas. But as he comes up lacking still he decides he needs cheering up and opens his journal.]

There must be SOMETHING you can do if you say you're going to be bringing him back in a couple days.

I can't. I really really really wish there was something but there isn't. Not with this event thing. The best I can do is guarantee no lasting damage.

I think when he gets back, he will be very grateful for shoes. He's pretty damn sick of people being shoeless in Luceti in the winter.

I wonder if that would make a good chirstmas gift for him... I'm having trouble thinking of a good one for him. [That's it! Make friends with the kidnapper and maybe she'll let him go faster!]

He'll like whatever you give him. Far as he's concerned it's nice enough that you're getting him something to begin with.

Certainly shall. At first I thought I couldn't get him until the 27th, but it turns out I miscalculated the demands of my social life.

It's kind of a package deal with muns. If yours had to hiatus for a while, she'd probably have you kidnapped, too.

So... we each have our own muns just sitting around waiting for their lives to be inconvenienced so they can kidnap us... for what?

That's what I'd like to know. What do you get from this?

It's...a chance to explore our favorite characters on our own terms. To test the way we think that they work, and their thought processes. And it's the chance to see them meet people they'd never be able to meet otherwise.

If he hadn't been brought here, Usopp never would have met you or Luka. And you guys are good friends to have.

I'm glad to have met them... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut how about giving us the option now where we can return to our lives now? I have some important things that need to be taken care of back home!

Eh, less up to us and more up to the mods. We apply for people to bring in but they're the ones who decide who stays and goes.

They pretty much run the place. Moving, drastic changes, approval, death penalties- just about anything, really, you have to run by them.

Kind of afraid of them, myself.

When someone dies in Luceti, they don't stay dead. But they don't come back the same, either. It's kind of like a give-and-take, and the consequences vary from person to person.

It could be memory loss, limb loss, blindness, anything like that. Hell if I'm ever thinking of anything like that for Usopp, though, he's staying alive no matter what.

I read something like that in the guides. Aw man... it's real?
