[Today was good and windy out. The perfect chance for Vash to try to contact Kipinn. So today he’s found himself sitting in the middle of a clearing, eyes shut as he tries to contact the spirit. Only problem? He’s never been good at sitting still in a meditative like state. So his mind starts to wander.

Just little thoughts here and there. Wondering what Meryl might be cooking for dinner tonight. Friends he should try to reconnect with. Man, it‘s really cold out. Hopefully he‘ll hear Kipinn soon, maybe he should have brought a hat out with-

Of course. Becoming a killer isn’t the end of the world.]

…Legato. [Vash’s face grows dark and he tries his best to keep the man and what he’s said out of his mind, but now that he’s started, he just can’t stop. He thought he had gotten past this, but now with Legato here... can he really fix such a huge mistake?

And it was a mistake. He didn’t see a better way in time!
Don’t you want to face what you have done?
He wasn’t ignoring it! He moved on. Dwelling forever on it wouldn’t help!
I don’t want to be forgotten.
How could he forget!?

So for the next couple hours until he can get himself back under control. Vash can be found with a grimace on his face changing from upset to angry at himself now and then.]

What's with that coat, anyway? Is that some kind of uniform?

No, it's just a good coat and I've grown attached to it. It's perfect on my desert planet, keeps the sand out and keeps me warm at night.

I like it. [Keeps him warm at night? A pause; then:] Deserts kinda scare me. And you actually live OUT in one?

Yeah, the whole planet is one big desert.

Does anything grow there at all? Where do you get water? How does life survive there?

Not much grows, but some people have managed to cultivate the land to make things grow, as for water there are underground reservoirs that people can dig down into. Oh, and there are the Plants too. They can create food and water if people know how to use them... which unfortunately aren't many.

Yes, this place is almost like an Eden compared to that. I hope one day home will look more like Luceti.

Luceti reminds me a little of Northampton. That's where Casey's family's farm is.

...Uh, is it POSSIBLE to turn a desert into a temperate place like this?

It may be hard, but with the Plants I'll think we'll make it.

He rides out to protect the weak and fight giants that aren't really there.

[April gives him a sideways glance.] And he'd probably help a lost girl in the woods, too. I don't want you to get the wrong idea, by the way.

Hm, well I've never fought against giants that weren't there, but I'm always happy to help beautiful damsels who are lost in the woods!

See, I'm not usually a "damsel," and I hardly EVER get lost. It's not really my thing. My normal thing. You know? [She punctuates each statement with an authoritative hand gesture.]

Mmmmhmmm. [Quit blushing, O'Neil. But she turns to glance at her bright yellow wings, fluttering the soft things slightly.] Well, I WILL say that if you're ever lost, I'd be glad to help you get unlost. It's only fair.
