[Vash is trying to get the last of his Christmas shopping done and can be spotted in the various shops trying to get ideas. But as he comes up lacking still he decides he needs cheering up and opens his journal.]

I haven't kidnapped anyone. Luka's not going anywhere... Well maybe she will but she will be back shortly after.

There's nothing you have to worry about. I like Luka, I love her, I wouldn't do anything too bad to her. And who knows, what it may seem evil to you it may be good for her.

Used to it. Just as she's used to have a master that tells her what to do instead of having to depend on "free will".

Even without me, back at her world she would be taken to improve her or fix her by her creators. From something minor like making a backup of her database so if she malfunctions she can be fixed, to something drastic like a memory reset.

I agree on that. But as she is now, Luka can't have a real free will. She still doesn't even know what that really means, after all, only the theory. Same with friendship.

You know she can't be hurt as she's now, do you? She will get hurt however as she learn about friendship and free will. She's already hurting, for caring so much for someone and seen him being kidnapped. If she's suffering it's your fault, not mine.

That suffering mean she cares. That there are other people who care for her. That is not a bad thing.

But that's what you're doing, isn't it? Just because she talks, she thinks and moves, you assume she can be like you. That she has to be like you and the other humans. You don't even care about what she is or what she really wants to be.
